An optical transmission system capable of transmitting a high definition video signal, method of defining module pin, and transmission method. The optical transmission system comprises a transmission end and a receiving end. The transmission end comprises a first small form-factor pluggable (XFP) module (1) and a parallel-to-serial conversion device (2). The receiving end comprises a second XFP module (3) and a serial-to-parallel conversion device (4). The parallel-to-serial conversion device (2) is configured to convert a plurality of video signals into a serial electrical signal and transmit the same to the first XFP module (1). The first XFP module (1) is configured to convert the serial electrical into an optical signal and transmit the same to the second XFP module (3) via an optical fiber. The second XFP module (3) is configured to convert the optical signal into a serial electrical signal and transmit the same to the serial-to-parallel conversion device (4). The serial-to-parallel conversion device (4) is configured to convert the serial electrical signal into a plurality of video signals. The embodiment improves and redesigns an existing XFP device by adopting existing modules without redesigning, decreasing a difficulty of designing a high definition video signal transmission product for a developer. |
