[Class 16] In a book having a recess sunk in one or more of its leaves or in the inside of either or each cover of the book, foldable interlocking covering flaps are arranged for covering each recess. As shown, the back cover 1 is of multi-ply construction to afford a recess 2, and a paper or cardboard container in the form of an envelope has a back 3 which is gummed to the bottom of the recess, side flaps 4, and interlocking flaps 5, 6. The arrangement is such that the flaps when folded are flush with, or below the surface of the cover. The recesses are adapted to receive playing pieces for games, articles such as toys, modelling tools, strips of yarn, &c. The book may be printed with instructions &c. relating to the contents of the recesses in the book, and where the contents are playing pieces for board games the pages may have playing boards illustrated thereon.
