The present invention relates to a method and system for locating and monitoring animals by means of devices (ITM) (1) associated with same. The devices wirelessly transmit information on the state and location of the animal to network sensors (NC) (2) disposed on the farm. The NC devices can be associated with one or more environment sensors (3) that measure physical parameters of the facility. In turn, the NC devices communicate with a central farm server (4) in which the information is gathered, analysed and transmitted to a central server (5). By means of the central server, elements such as veterinarians, feed providers, end consumers, etc. interact with the system by exchanging information (6-7).
