512,591. Charging skips; delivering material from hoppers, MAISON BEER SOC. ANON. June 30, 1938, No. 19430. Convention date, July 29, 1937. [Classes 78 (i) and 78 (iv)] In traversing from left to right along its track, a projection 3 on the skip or wagon 4 contacts one of the arms 6 on the pivoted sector valve 7 and opens the latter to deliver material from the bunker or hopper 8 to fill the skip. Delivery ceases automatically when the level of the freely-falling material rises to the end of the delivery shoot and chokes the outlet from the latter. On traversing the skip in the reverse direction, the projection 3 engages the other arm 6 and swings the valve upwards to close it. The front wall of the hopper is lower than the back wall to enable it to pass under the hopper. |
