The system comprises selection means (10) adapted for enabling a customer to select an article to be purchased (20) and providing a first token (12) comprising a first code, the first token (12) representing the article to be purchased (20). The system further comprises payment means (14) adapted for reading the first token (12), detecting the first code, validating the first code, receiving a payment from the customer for the article to be purchased (20), providing the customer with a second token (16) comprising a second code, wherein the second token (16) represents the article to be purchased (20). The system further comprises checkout means (18) adapted for scanning the second token (16), detecting the second code, validating the second code, and providing the customer with the article to be purchased (20), wherein the checkout means (18) are adapted for validating the second code based on the structure of the second code. |
