The invention relates to a method for inserting printed products in a product flow of printed products (25) preferably produced in a rotary printing process and fed to further print processing, wherein a first product flow in the form of a shingle stream of approaching printed products (25) is combined with further printed products not originating in the first product flow, into a second product flow fed to further print processing at a speed (products/time) uncoupled from the first product flow. The two subsequent product flows are uncoupled in a space-saving and flexible manner, preferably in that the printed products (25) fed in the first product flow are simultaneously intermediately stored for continuous buffering in a substantially quasi-static state and in a compressed arrangement, and after the intermediate storage are fed at a variable speed in the second product flow to further print processing. By introducing printed products from further sources into the first product flow, the capacity of further print processing can be optimally utilized. |
