The mangles used, are of the rotary drum and bed type. Energy is supplied by the thermal transfer medium to each mangle unit (10, 11). Thermal transfer is such that the final temperature of the thermal transfer medium is at a given value, or within a given range. The final temperature is taken after a mangle unit or at the end of a series of mangle units. Temperature at the input of the- or each subsequent mangle unit (11) is determined as a function of the temperature at the output of the preceding unit. The temperature on the inlet side (15) of the second mangle unit (11) and each subsequent unit is selected, and especially is controlled in a fixed ratio to that at the outlet side (16, 17) of the respective prior unit (10, 11). The temperature at the outlet side of the respective unit corresponds with and especially is controlled to, approximately the temperature at the inlet side of the respective subsequent unit, in correspondence with temperature at the outlet side (16, 17). Further variants and developments of the method are described, based on the foregoing principles. The system further includes heat exchangers and a heating circuit recirculating the thermal transfer medium, or alternatively effluent gases from heater(s) only, are used for heating. The rate of energy supply to each mangle is controlled for heating to a given temperature. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding mangling equipment. |
