PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber element which is superior in handleability and hardly causes damage in replacement, and a separation membrane module having the hollow fiber element.SOLUTION: A hollow fiber element 200 comprises: a hollow fiber bundle formed by bundling a plurality of hollow fiber membranes having selective permeability; a tube plate for fixing the hollow fiber membranes; a core tube arranged nearly in the center of the hollow fiber bundle and supplying purge gas to an external space of the hollow fiber membranes; and an element case 250 for accommodating the hollow fiber bundle and the tube plate, and is a bore feed type of introducing mixed gas into the hollow fiber membranes. The element case 250 comprises: a cylindrical member 251 in the outer peripheral part of which an opening part 253p is formed and which surrounds the hollow fiber bundle, and which regulates a flow of gas so that the flow of the mixed gas in the hollow fiber membranes becomes a counterflow to the flow of the purge gas outside the hollow fiber membranes; and end part members 265A and 265B installed on both ends of the cylindrical member 251. |
