[Class 78 (i)] An elevator of the kind comprising a pair of endless chains 4 connected by tie-bars 2, 3 carrying a series of canvas slings or flexible pockets 8 is provided with one or more rotating rollers or drums 7 at the return end of the elevator against the surface of which each pocket is pressed by its tie-bar so that, after passing round the drum, each pocket is directed inwardly so as to be in a position ready to receive goods. The elevator may be combined with a conveyer as described in Specification 2240/10, [Class 78 (i)], in which a horizontal conveyer is provided at its ends with two vertical elevator portions. |
