PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring a PM amount accumulated in a DPF capable of accurately estimating a collection amount of the PM accumulated in the DPF.SOLUTION: A device for measuring a particulate material amount accumulated in a DPF, determines the accumulation amount of the PM by measuring the PM amount accumulated in the DPF 2 composed of a porous ceramic, the DPF 2 being disposed on the way of an exhaust pipe 1 of a diesel engine, by: propagating, to a DPF body, an ultrasonic wave generated by an oscillator 3 disposed outside a container directly to the DPF 2 or through an insulator or a space; receiving the ultrasonic wave having propagated by a receiver 4 to measure it; and knowing an attenuation time constant of the detected signal of the ultrasonic wave, the attenuation time constant being the base for the determination of the accumulated PM amount. |
