Provided is a hoisting rope for an elevator having a core rope which has high strength and excellent abrasion resistance. The hoisting rope (2) includes: a core rope (7) including a kind of threads (10) and another kind of threads (11); and a strand (8) arranged around the core rope (7). The threads (10) include oil and are formed by twisting fibers made of a resin having a melting point higher than a melting temperature of the oil. The threads (11) are formed by twisting polyethylene sheet materials on which a split process has been performed. |
