METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SCREENING IRIS IMAGES

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for screening iris images, which relate to the field of biological recognition. The method comprises: obtaining iris images of a user; extracting MSCN coefficient statistical characteristics about the iris images; performing primary screening on the iris images by utilizing the MSCN coefficient statistical characteristics; extracting DCT statistical characteristics about the iris images having been subjected to the primary screening; and performing secondary screening on the iris images by utilizing the DCT statistical characteristics. The iris images can be quickly and accurately screened, thereby obtaining a clear and useable iris image.
