PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a splash of molten steel by supplementing the molten steel splashing in breakout.SOLUTION: A molten steel splash prevention device 1 prevents the splash of the molten steel by supplementing the molten steel splashing in the breakout of a continuous casting apparatus 3, and includes a plurality of cooling members 8 for cooling the molten steel, each of the cooling members 8 is mounted in a frame for supporting a short-side foot roll provided in the lower end of a casting mold 2. In the cooling members 8, the lower end of the cooling members 8 is set in a position 700 mm or more apart from the lower end of the casting mold 2 of the continuous casting apparatus 3, a distance between the adjacent cooling members 8 is set to 10 mm - 40 mm, the total cross-sectional area of the cooling members 8 is set to 400 mmor more, and the cooling members 8 is installed in the range of 10 mm - 50 mm from a cast metal, strength of a mounting part between the frame and the cooling members 8 is set to breaking strength or less of the cooling members 8 or a connection member 9 for connecting the cooling members 8. |
