Provided is a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery, which comprises: a plurality of non-plate-type graphite particles, a silicon-based particle positioned on a void formed by aggregating the non-plate-type graphite particles; and plate-type graphite powder positioned on a gap between the non-plate-type graphite particles, on the void, or on both positions thereof. The size of the silicon particles is smaller than the length of the major axis of the non-plate-type graphite particles. Provided is the negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery, which can improve safety and durability.
