PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold material for controlling a temperature of a molten steel having little steps needed for its manufacturing, not generating failed temperature control of the molten steel due to remaining undissolved cold material even when added to the molten steel during a treatment with an RH vacuum degasser and the like as a temperature controller, and to provide its manufacturing method and manufacturing apparatus.SOLUTION: A cold material for controlling a temperature of a molten steel during an RH vacuum degassing treatment and the like contains thin sheet trim materials 11 obtained by cutting a trim waste generated during a cutting process by a side trimmer after rolling of thin steel sheet in a prescribed length and has a sheet thickness of 1.2 to 6.3 mm, a length of 30 to 60 mm, a width of 10 to 20 mm. It is manufactured by applying vibration to a thin sheet trim waste aggregate 12 which thin trim wastes generated during the cutting process by the side trimmer after rolling of thin steel sheet are entangled, separating the entangled thin sheet trim wastes 11, aligning a plurality of the separated thin sheet trim wastes 11 in substantially one direction, transporting a plurality of the aligned thin sheet trim wastes 11 to a cutting device 50 and cutting the transported thin sheet trim wastes 11 together in the prescribed length. |
