Provided are an exterior member fitting device and an exterior member fitting method such that the efficiency of fitting operation is increased without increase in device size or complexity. The exterior member fitting device fits a sheet member (S) (exterior member) covering a wire portion (W1) of a wiring harness (W). The sheet member (S), formed into the shape of a sheet having adhesive surfaces (S1) and external surfaces (S2), sandwiches the wire portion (W1) with the adhesive surfaces (S1) on the inside to cover the wire portion (W1) by the adhesion of the adhesive surfaces (S1) to one another. The device is provided with a support means (2) for supporting from the side of one of the external surfaces (S2) the sheet member (S) in a half-folded state sandwiching the wire portion (W1), and a pressing means (3) which rolls along the other of the external surfaces (S2) of the sheet member (S) and presses the sheet member (S). |
