[Class 140] Webs of fibrous material or of fabric, inorganic or organic, are layered with wood veneers and pressed, the webs being so highly impregnated with condensation products of aldehydes with phenols, amides or amines, that the excess exuding during the shaping completely penetrates the wood veneers and produces a smooth surface. The degree of impregnation of the various webs may vary, the outermost layer preferably containing most resin. A flat plate may comprise four wood veneers 1 with interposed impregnated webs 2. Sheets, blocks and dishes may be made in the same manner. |
