PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic flux leakage inspection device and an inspection method capable of highly accurately detecting a defect with a widened defect detection range.SOLUTION: A magnetic flux leakage inspection device includes: a magnetizer 10 for magnetizing a steel plate 1; a detector 13 for detecting magnetic flux leakage due to a defect 2 existing in the steel plate magnetized by the magnetizer 10; and a defect detection unit 20 for processing a detection signal from the detector 13 to detect the defect 2 in the steel plate 1. The defect detection unit 20 includes plural band-pass filters 22, 23 that have mutually different ranges of a frequency of a signal to be transmitted therethrough and are disposed parallel to each other, individually amplifies a signal transmitted through each of the band-pass filters, adjusts sensitivity, and detects a defect having a property corresponding to each of the frequency ranges. |
