The present invention relates to an organic light emitting diode which comprises a first electrode, an organic insulating layer, a first bank, a second bank, an organic light emitting layer and a second electrode, and a manufacturing method thereof. The organic insulating layer is provided in a lower part of the first electrode. The first bank is placed to be overlapped with a portion of the first electrode, and provided to expose a portion of the organic insulating layer. In addition, the second bank is provided to contact with an upper surface of the first bank and the exposed organic insulating layer. The organic light emitting layer is placed on an area partitioned by the first bank and the second bank. The second electrode is placed on an upper part of the organic light emitting layer.
