A container comprises a container body (3) and a lid (5), which has an outer lid wall portion (29) surrounding a central portion. The outer lid wall portion (29) provides a lid-side sealing surface (39) and a lid-side securing portion (43), which engage respectively with body-side sealing surface and securing portion, when the lid (5) is applied to the container body (3) to close the container. The container further comprises a securing ring (55) inserted within the outer lid wall portion (29). The securing ring (55) comprises a support portion (57) and possibly an upper flange portion (59) extending from the support portion (57) at an acute angle (±) of less than 80° from vertical. The securing ring (55) is attached to the lid (5) by an adhesive (64). |
