PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device registration system having high security.SOLUTION: A portable device registration system registers, with an immobilizer ECU 6 of a vehicle 1, an electronic key 2 which shares an encryption key with the vehicle 1 and performs encryption communication using the encryption key. The immobilizer ECU 6 generates the encryption key by using a key generation logic from a SEED code included in an ID code signal transmitted from the electronic key 2, and registers the generated encryption key. Then, the immobilizer ECU 6 transmits a signal for requesting to activate the registered encryption key, to a control center 9. If the received encryption key is not registered with the control center 9, the control center 9 registers the encryption key and also transmits a signal that authorizes activation of the registered encryption key, to the immobilizer ECU 6. The immobilizer ECU 6 is authorized to perform encryption communication using the encryption key only after receiving the signal that authorizes the activation of the encryption key. |
