The present invention relates to a method for removing organic acid from highly acidic crude oil or hydrocarbon oil. The method for removing organic acid from highly acidic crude oil or hydrocarbon oil extracts organic acid from highly acidic crude oil or hydrocarbon oil with a diol compound which establishes liquid-liquid phase equilibrium with the highly acidic crude oil or hydrocarbon oil, thereby effectively removing organic acid from crude oil and hydrocarbon oil having high acidity. Also, the method for removing organic acid from highly acidic crude oil or hydrocarbon oil can recover an additive without generating impurities and an emulsion generated by removing organic acid, and can extract organic acid at low temperature and low pressure.
