PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of an organic EL element formation layer due to either or both of oxygen and water, and damage to the organic EL element formation layer on a flexible substrate.SOLUTION: A flexible substrate roll for forming an organic EL element includes: a flexible substrate roll formed by rolling a flexible substrate 1 in a roll state; an organic EL element formation layer 3 spaced away from an end of the flexible substrate roll on the flexible substrate of the flexible substrate roll and having at least one of layers constituting an organic EL element; and an absorbing layer 2 containing a material that absorbs either or both of oxygen and water. The absorbing layer 2 is disposed on the flexible substrate of the flexible substrate roll so as to be disposed side by side with the organic EL element formation layer and closer to the end of the flexible substrate roll than the organic EL element formation layer. |
