447,665. Mounting piezo - electric crystals. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Dec. 10, 1935, Nos. 34220 and 34221. Convention dates, Dec. 10, 1934. [Class 40 (v)] A crystal oscillator is drilled or recessed at nodal points to receive carrier-members or terminals which are preferably cemented-in by a metal amalgam, foil electrodes being provided on opposite sides of the crystal. Alternatively, the carrier members are constituted by projections formed integrally with the oscillating crystal-mass and at nodal points. In Fig. 1 a circular crystal 1 is recessed at points 2, 2 and metal rods 3, 3 are cemented in to form holders. The electrodes 5, 5 are electrically connected to the terminals 3, 3 by cross-bores 4, 4 filled with conducting material. In Fig. 3 two stemshaped projections S1, S2 are cut integrally with the oscillator 1 from the mother-crystal. The crystal and one or both of the holder or terminal projections may be coated with metal electrodes 5 as shown in Figs. 9 and 10. The projections may take the form of a rim separated from the mother-crystal by a recessed bridgepiece, which may be cut away over parts of the periphery. |
