A method and apparatus for managing security in a wireless network for fixed aircraft components, having a wireless access point (22) located in the aircraft (10) and defining the boundaries of the wireless network, a wireless remote node (26) fixedly located within the aircraft (10) and communicating with the wireless network, and a fixed security node (30). The wireless remote nodes communication defines a radio frequency fingerprint. The fixed security node has a database of authorized RF fingerprints with which to compare the RF fingerprint of received fixed aircraft components communication. |
