PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current converter for measuring currents flowing through a primary conductor.SOLUTION: The converter includes: an outer casing (3); a magnetic core (6) including a magnetic circuit gap; a magnetic field detector (8) including a sensing portion positioned in the magnetic circuit gap; an insulation core housing (10); a secondary coil (12) formed of a wire wound around a coil support portion (26) of the insulation core housing; and an electrostatic shield (14). The electrostatic shield is positioned between the secondary coil and an inner radial wall portion (5b) of the outer casing, and the inner radial wall portion defines a passage (22) configured to accept a primary conductor. The electrostatic shield includes a skirt portion (15) formed of a plurality of flexible strips (17) extending from the edge of the shield in an axial direction, and the flexible strips are configured so as to be elastically energized to a base bottom wall portion (5a) of the outer casing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9a
