PURPOSE:To secure such a nickel positive plate that is excellent in active material holding power and flexibity, besides low-unit cost of production, by containing cadmium oxide and a specific compound in the active material paste charged in a spongelike nickel porous body. CONSTITUTION:In case of a nickel positive plate charging an active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide in a spongelike nickel porous body, cadmium oxide and at least any of hydroxycarboxylic acid, its salt, an intramolecular esterified compound of this hydroxycarboxylic acid, salt of this intramolecular esterified compound of the hydroxycarboxylic acid, saccharine, its salt, nitrilotriacetic acid, its salt and salt of cobaltinitrite are contained in this active material. And, an admixing quantity of the cadmium oxide is set more than 4% against weight of powder of the nickel hydroxide. With this constitution, such a nickel positive plate that is excellent in active material holding power and flexibility is securable. |
