The method comprises monitoring electronic data passing across or stored in a computer network used by a first party (102) or content relating to a project. Upon identifying such content, the method comprises generating an electronic record (106) pertaining to the project that contains the identified content, and acquiring certain information (108) relating to the project and adding that information to the record. The method further comprises automatically generating search criteria (110) usable for performing a search of searchable database(s), the criteria being generated from the content and/or information contained in the record; autonomously performing a search (112) of the searchable database(s) using the search criteria; and whereupon finding data stored on the database(s) that meets at least certain of the criteria, generating a report (114) containing at least a summary of a result of the search.
