The present invention relates to a method for producing a copolymer of polar olefin and nonpolar olefin capable of regulating the ratio of polar olefin units in the copolymer. The present invention further relates to a copolymer of polar olefin and nonpolar olefin produced thereby. To this end, the method of the present invention comprises the following steps: (1) raising a temperature in a reactor from 85 to 95°C while inserting and mixing a solvent and a polar olefin-based monomer into the reactor; (2) and carrying out polymerization by inserting, into the reactor, an organic metal composite and nonpolar olefin-based monomer after the temperature regulation.
