<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image processing device capable of accurately detecting the area of the iris and pupil of an eye. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device 6 relating to the invention specifies an eye feature from a person's face image, and comprises: a first differential part 31 for differentiating an eye area in which an eye exists in the face image, in the transverse direction of the eye, and obtaining a luminance gradient; a ternarization part 32 for ternarizing the luminance gradient and extracting a first edge point corresponding to a boundary with the left side brighter than the right side and a second edge point corresponding to a boundary with the left side darker than the right side as edge points, with respect to the eye area; a first voting part 33 using Hough transform for executing voting by changing weight of voting for an ellipse to be voted, in accordance with correspondence of each edge point to either one of the first and second edge points and in accordance with the positional relation between the ellipse and the edge point; and an iris contour specification part 34 for specifying the ellipse showing the contour of an iris, based on the result of voting by the first voting part 33. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
