The pharmaceutical composition exhibits significant effects on the lubrication, the continuous moisturization of the eye, and the like through the increased moisture content due to the improved viscoelasticity in comparison with the conventional eye-drop composition, and can be efficiently used as an eye drop and an ophthalmic ointment for ophthalmic diseases such as the damage to corneal and conjunctival epithelial cells.
