PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance detection device capable of performing high speed and highly accurate range finding.SOLUTION: A distance detection device for detecting distance information to a subject on the basis of a first signal corresponding to a light flux passing through a first pupil area of an exit pupil of an image formation optical system and a second signal corresponding to a light flux passing through a second pupil area different from the first pupil area includes: first calculation means for calculating a first deviation amount as a positional deviation amount between the first signal and the second signal; signal processing means for performing filter processing of relatively displacing the first signal and the second signal only by a displacement amount corresponding to the first deviation amount to at least one of the first signal and the second signal to generate a correction signal; and second calculation means for calculating a second deviation amount as a positional deviation amount between the first signal and the second signal to which the filter processing has been performed or between one signal to which the filter processing has been performed and the other signal to which the filter processing has not been performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
