FIELD: construction.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compounds suitable for making sealants for doors, windows and other structures, protecting against penetration through structure of hot smoke, preventing propagation of fire in case of fire. At temperatures higher than 170 °C compound irreversibly expands up to 30 times, forming foam which withstands prolonged exposure to temperature of up to 900 °C. Thermally expanded compound contains mixtures of a copolymer of ethylene with thermoplastic-block-copolymer of styrene with diene copolymers, oxidised graphite, antipyrenes in composition, wt%: block copolymer thermoplastic elastomers, in particular block copolymers of styrene with diene copolymers, which has a three-block structure, specificlaly two rigid crystalline polystyrene units coupled by flexible units of copolymers of diene monomers 1-60, copolymers of ethylene with vinyl acetate, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylic acid or mixtures thereof 1-60, flame retardants 1-40, oxidised thermally expanded graphite 1-50, heat stabilisers of amine or phenol type 0.01-5, pigments imparting colour to product 0.01-5. Described also is a method of producing a thermally expanded compound by mixing in a twin-screw extruder with co-rotation of screws.EFFECT: technical result is increased elasticity of compound, low hardness, high deformation characteristics and low residual deformation after stretching while preserving properties of heat resistance and degree of thermal expansion.5 cl, 1 tbl, 18 ex |
