The present invention relates to an apparatus for treating food waste and a method for treating food waste using the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus for treating food waste, which prevents environmental pollution, and can effectively remove offensive odor, and to a method for treating food waste using the same. The apparatus for treating food waste comprises: a storage tank (1) for storing food waste; a grinding device (2) for rotating one gear (24); a first crushing device (3) for rotating a first crushing screw (34); a transporting pump (5) operated by a fourth motor (53); a reaction tank (6) equipped with a fifth discharging hole (69); and a compression device (7) for compressing and discharging the residues by rotating a compression screw (74). |
