A fracturable mask for treating presbyopia is disclosed. The fracturable mask can include an aperture for improving depth of focus. The fracturable mask can be embedded in an intraocular lens. The intraocular lens can include a lens body and the fracturable mask. The fracturable mask can be configured to fracture along a plurality of fracture pathways when the intraocular lens is manipulated. For example, fractures can be created in the mask during the process of injecting the intraocular fens through a cartridge tip into a patient's eye. The fractures can allow the resilient lens body to restore the fractured mask to its original, pre-injection optical performance specifications.
