Provided is an automobile door structural member that is highly rigid, lightweight, and inexpensive. Both end portions of a linear tubular member 12 and both end portions of a U-shaped tubular member 14 are linked by a pair of L-shaped link members 16 at two locations of a structural member as a whole. Accordingly, compared with a square-frame shaped structural member linked at four locations, for example, a significant increase in rigidity can be achieved. Further, an upper-side frame portion 10a of the structural member 10 is configured of a linear tubular member 12 of extruded light alloy, and a pair of lateral-side frame portions 10c, 10d and a lower-side frame portion 10b of the structural member 10 are integrally configured of the U-shaped tubular member 14, which is extrusion-molded and bent in U-shape. Thus, because the linear tubular member 12 and the U-shaped tubular member 14 are manufactured by extrusion molding, which offers high mass-producibility, a lighter and less expensive automobile door structural member 10 can be obtained. |
