PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy and prevent occurrence of a dilution phenomenon of engine oil.SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine includes: temperature rise means 19 for injecting fuel to raise a temperature of a filter 17 for collecting particulate matters in exhaust gas; operation duration detection means 58 for detecting operation duration of the internal combustion engine 1; and an idle stop function for stopping the operation of the internal combustion engine 1 when a vehicle is stopped. When filter regeneration determination means 30 determines that regeneration of the filter 17 is necessary, if the regeneration processing is performed while the idle stop function is exhibited and the operation duration of the internal combustion engine 1 is shorter than predetermined time, by using the temperature rise means 19, a first injection pattern in which fuel is injected in first injection amount and then injected in second injection amount larger than the first injection amount is intermittently repeated. When the operation duration of the internal combustion engine 1 is longer than the predetermined time, a second injection pattern in which fuel is intermittently injected in the first injection amount is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
