The present invention relates to an image display device. The image display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a display; an interface unit for receiving a remote control signal from a remote control device; a power supply unit for converting inputted alternating current power into direct current power to output the direct current power; and a control unit for controlling the display. The control unit controls a standby mode setting menu to be displayed on the display according to a standby mode setting input and controls a standby mode to be performed in response to a selected item when the predetermined item on the standby mode setting menu is selected. The interface unit transmits a power on signal to the activated control unit in response to the selected item in the standby mode when receiving the power on signal from the remote control device. The control unit controls a predetermined image to be displayed on the display based on the power on signal. Therefore, the image display device can rapidly display the predetermined image based on the power on signal while reducing power consumption in the standby mode. |
