PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a light distribution pattern so as to be largely expanded upwardly from a cutoff line of a low-beam light distribution pattern after securing the luminosity of the light distribution pattern, in a vehicle lighting appliance which is constituted so that the light distribution pattern is formed in a high-beam region by radiating emission light from a plurality of light emitting elements frontward via a projection lens.SOLUTION: A projection lens 12 comprises a general region 12Z0, and a first polarization region 12Z1 having a rear-side focus point F1 which is displaced to an upper side with respect to a rear-side focus point F0 of the general region 12Z0. By this constitution, an inverted projection image of each light emitting element 14 which is formed of the transmitted light of the first polarization region 12Z1 is formed in a state of being displaced to an upper side with respect to an inverted projection image of each light emitting element 14 which is formed of the transmitted light of the general region 12Z0, and a light distribution pattern is formed so as to be largely expanded to an upper side from a cutoff line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
