Disclosed are a method and a system for providing an online video platform service to enable a user and an acquiantance to conveniently share an image without joining the same SNS or service. The method for providing an online video platform service in a client terminal capable of communicating with a platform server through a communication network comprises the steps of: selecting an image to be uploaded and inputting an upload request for the selected image; uploading the selected image to the platform server according to the upload request; receiving, from the platform server, the address of the image uploaded to the platform server; and transmitting the received image address to the email address or SNS account of an acquaintance. The client terminal of the acquiantance can connect to the platform server by using the transmitted image address to download or play the uploaded image.
