The crystallizing apparatus claimed in the parent Specification is modified by making the tubs in the form of truncated pyramids to facilitate attachment of crystals to the walls, thereby enabling them to grow to a size suitable for making viscose sponges. The temperature difference between solution and cooling liquid is increased as the tubs move along the trough, and devices for introducing and removing cooling liquid are described. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, contains a figure showing curves in which the heat exchange through the walls of the tubs and the temperature difference required for constant heat exchange are plotted as a function of the time of cooling. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
