PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: provision of a mechanism of determining the position in the main scanning direction or sub scanning direction of an optical writing head with respect to a latent image carrier increases the size of the device.SOLUTION: There is provided an optical writing head position determination mechanism including a spacer member 21 that is provided between a latent image carrier 2 carrying a latent image and an optical writing head 4 exposing the latent image carrier 2 to form a latent image to determine the position of the optical writing head 4 in the distance direction with respect to the latent image carrier 2, where the spacer member 21 determines at least one of the positions in the main scanning direction and sub scanning direction of the optical writing head 4 with respect to the latent image carrier 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
