The subject matter of the invention is an aircraft having a plurality of interchangeable, wirelessly controllable electrical or electronic functional units (3) which are provided for use by passengers and which are associated with a seat (1) or group of seats, and having a plurality of installation sites (2) for said functional units, wherein each installation site is associated with one seat (1) or group of seats. According to the invention, the following features are provided: a) the functional units (3) are removable parts which can be installed and uninstalled or replaced during maintenance work without forfeiting the operational approval of the aircraft; b) each functional unit has a device (6) operating in a contactless manner in the form of an RFID reader for the identification of the installation site (2) of said functional unit, and a device for the wireless transmission of the identified installation site to, and storage in, a database of the aircraft; c) an RFID tag is associated with each installation site and contains information readable by the RFID reader (6) identifying the associated seat (1) or group of seats. |
