PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tau protein aggregation inhibitor; to provide a therapeutic or prophylactic agent of tauopathy containing the tau protein aggregation inhibitor; and to provide a screening method of the tau protein aggregation inhibitor.SOLUTION: The invention provides a tau protein aggregation inhibitor containing a fluorone dye or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The invention also provides a screening method of the tau protein aggregation inhibitor comprising: (1) a step of preparing the transgenic Drosophila which expresses human tau protein in nerve cells; (2) a step of administering candidate compounds into the transgenic Drosophila; and (3) a step of measuring motor function for the transgenic Drosophila in which candidate compounds are administered in the step (2).SELECTED DRAWING: None
