PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device, and a method and a program for biometric authentication that can reduce the number of failed biometric authentication independently of the users' manners of holding mobile terminals.SOLUTION: The biometric authentication device performs biometric authentication using a terminal, and includes an acquisition unit and a collation processing unit. The acquisition unit acquires biometric data for collation detected at biometric authentication and collation data including the manner of holding the terminal and the attitude of the terminal. The collation processing unit compares the collation data and registration data including registration biometric data stored in a storage unit and related to the manner and the attitude, extracts registration data including the manner and the attitude similar to those of the collation data, and determines the success of the biometric authentication when the similarity of the registration biometric data in the registration data to the biometric data for collation is not smaller than a threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
