The present invention relates to a device for providing an MO service and a method thereof. Provided is the device for providing the MO service comprising: a data storing unit, an MO message receiving unit, and a message effectiveness determining unit. The data storing unit stores an MO number use registration information database including: an MO number for using a message oriented (MO) service; one or more use registration time zones for the MO number; and one or more selection item sets each of which corresponds to the each use registration time zone, and which have different forms for each use registration time zone. The MO message receiving unit receives an MO message received by using the MO number. The message validity determining unit checks a specific use registration time zone corresponding to a receiving time of the MO message in the MO number use registration information database; determines that the MO message is valid when a form of a selection item included in the MO message corresponds to a form of a specific selection item set in the specific use registration time zone; and determines that the MO message is not valid when the form of the selection item does not correspond to the form of the specific selection item set. |
