PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter that improves power utilization efficiency.SOLUTION: A transmitter comprises: an encoding unit 1 that generates a coded bit string by applying error correction encoding to an information bit; and a mapping unit 3 that performs mapping processing to allocate the encoded bit string to stipulated signal points. The mapping unit 3 places signal points to a triangular grid, and makes distance between signal points to average power larger. If the number of bit patterns allocated to the signal points is larger than the number of the signal points, the mapping unit allocates part of the bit patterns to the same signal points, and fills the signal points in a circle even when the signal points are few.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
