PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the tension of a belt varies due to the variation in distance between members that support the belt.SOLUTION: A belt device comprises: an endless belt 20; a rotation driving body 21 that rotationally drives in contact with an outer peripheral surface of the belt 20; a counter support 22 that contacts with an inner peripheral surface of the belt 20 at a position counter to the rotation driving body 21; a rotation support 23 that contacts with an inner peripheral surface of the belt 20 at a position away from the counter support 22 on the side opposite to the rotation driving body 21 side; and tension application means 25 that applies tension to the belt 20. The belt device also comprises a belt support holding member 42 that integrally and movably holds the counter support 22 and the rotation support 23 in a direction of approach to and separation from the rotation driving body 21 while maintaining the distance between the counter support 22 and the rotation support 23, and pressing means 43 and 44 that presses the counter support 22 against the rotation driving body 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
