A monitoring system (16) monitors the temperature, moisture level and pressure of a substantially dry gas circulating through the first layer or zone to maintain the first layer or zone in substantially dry condition.

1. A thermally insulated floor structure for an industrial refrigeration system, comprising:
a first zone of substantially hollow configuration, said first zone configured to support a load-bearing deck thereon; a second zone disposed beneath the first zone, and substantially isolated from the first zone at least in part by a rigid interface structure between the first and second zones, said second zone substantially occupied by a thermally insulating material, said thermally insulating material enclosed in a fluid impervious envelope; and said first zone comprising at least one inlet through which a fluid medium enters the first zone for circulation through the first zone, and at least one outlet through which the circulating medium exits the first zone.
