PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer capable of resolving a part where a ratio of dissolved air is high in an ink channel, preventing ink having a large amount of dissolved air from being discharged from a recording head, and maintaining cleanness of a nozzle surface.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer comprises a wiper for wiping a nozzle surface, a branch passage between a sub tank and a recording head, and a channel for returning ink from the branch passage to the sub tank. When the ink is stored in an ink channel for a constant time or longer, the ink is returned to the sub tank and a ratio of dissolved air in the ink is reduced so as to suppress a rise of the ratio of dissolved air in the ink channel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
